Nassau WMA turkeys?

My son and I were taking down our tree stand in January in NWMA. On the way out I always glance down the side roads. We came around a turn and I looked down a side road and saw two huge hens start running down the road away from the truck. I was going too fast to stop "in" the side road. I threw it in reverse and told my son to look down the road when it came into view. We got there in time for him to see the two hens - they were still running down the road. Based on our bad luck with deer and hogs this year, I would have not thought there were turkeys in NWMA, but we saw them, no doubt.

Nassau WMA is full of birds so I am suprised to hear you say you would'nt think there are birds there. The are firing off right now and there is sign everywhere. Many, many, many guys who hunt up there including myself are seeing a lot of them. So if you are hunting up there no time like the present to start scouting. Good luck.
